Yes! But, of course, it takes time. If you develop a sleep debt, you can pay it back by sleeping a bit extra on subsequent nights. That lets your body catch up on the sleep it needs. If you owe sleep to your sleep bank, your body will spend more time in the deeper stages 3 and 4 of sleep to make up for the sleep debt.
You can also try taking a nap in the afternoon if your nights don’t currently allow for a greater period of sleep. About 30 minutes of quality sleep can be a great benefit to repaying your sleep debt.
Catching up takes some time, however, so try not to burn the candle at both ends too often. Studies have shown that extra sleep over the weekend isn’t usually quite enough to fully recover from a sleep-deprived work week.
